BOYS SOCCER BACK2BACK PCAL CHAMPS!
The Everett Alvarez High School Boys Soccer program has done it AGAIN! With three more games to go to close out the season, they mathematically earned the outright PCAL Gabilian Division Championship for the 2ND YEAR IN A ROW!
The final score of the deciding game was 2-1 vs sister school North Salinas and the crowd cheered loudly, "We Are The Champions" played in the stadium speakers, and the display board expressed their back2back feat. After families and friends came down to celebrate with the team, Head Coach Gabriel Campos got his ceremonial ice bath dump and the boys celebrated by taking a dip in the pool.
Goal #1 is now complete with 4 more to go for the Eagle's historic run that has been going since February 24th, 2024 (the last time the Eagles suffered their last loss in the NorCal 1st round game). Since that game, the Eagles have been without a loss with a 2-season streak currently at 41-0-2.
Boys soccer will finish up league play with traveling to Monterey on Friday, hosting Hollister for senior night next Tuesday and closing the league play with a road trip to Greenfield. From there, the CCS tournament will start up on Saturday February 21st. Seeding meeting will take place February 19th to determine where the boys will be placed in the bracket with the challenge of 3-PEAT CCS Champs? Only time will tell and we wish our team good luck and CONGRATS CHAMPS!
